Computer => Settings tab gone wild

Dec 15, 2010 at 3:29 PM

Hi Maik!

I have successfully installed and configured MDT Web Frontend 1.0.1 on my virtual machine:

Windows Server 2008 R2 Standart
MDT 2010
II7
Microsoft SQL Server is on the other virtual machine.

Everything has been working fine for a month or so and then all of a sudden, when i came back from hospital, Web Frontend went nuts.
I literally can't access the "Settings" tab in computer properties.  It loads forever. And then if I click "Roles" tab it opens up "Settings" tab empty.

At first i thought my DB was screwed up. But i cheked it and everything looked fine. I can also manage my computers via Deployment Workbench freely.

Any thoughts on that issue?

Well, I actually created a new MDT Database. And it seems to work fine. So I guess, DB was corrupted.

Now, when I try to switch to old DB, i get this message in Status Information:

 MDT Database connection
 successfull. Please save
 changes before proceeding!

No MDT Database found!

So... How do I manage that? o_O

Okay. Issue solved. DB access rights somehow got screwed.

You should always triple-check those access rights I guess...

Issues on the Database side are most often the reason behind problems within the FrontEnd. I try to implement a better information into the frontend so that this kind of issues is easier to detect.

So glad you found the issue yourself.
